We recommend patients bring the following items.
Clothing Items: (No hoods, hats or strings)
- Five pairs of socks
- Five pairs of pants
- Five tops
- Bras/tank tops – no underwire
- One coat, jacket or sweatshirt – no hoods
- Two pairs of shoes – no laces
- Five changes of underwear
- Three tops, three bottom garments
- Hygiene Items: (must fit in 5 x 7 toiletry box, no glass, no mirrors, no aerosols/sprays, mouthwash, floss or pumps.)
- Toothbrush/toothpaste
- One chapstick
- Deodorant
- Shampoo/conditioner
- Lotion
- Brush/comb
Other:
- Two books (no hardbound or staples – Students may bring their textbooks
- Optional – three unopened packs of cigarettes – adults 19 years old and older only
Medical Equipment:
- Glasses
- CPAP
- Dentures and supplies
- Hearing aids
Please label all personal belongings with the patient’s first name and last initial. Belongings will only be accepted until the front desk closes the next day to bring in additional items. After that point belongings will only be accepted during visitation on Saturdays. If the patient already has the allotted amount of items, no additional item will be accepted at that time.
Items Not Allowed to be Brought Into the Hospital
- Outside food or drink
- Glass items of any kind
- Headphones
- Radios, tape players or handheld games
- Lighters
- Cell phones, beepers
- Flat irons
- Picture frames
- Knives, weapons
- Dental floss
- Glass vases
- Pens (except those proved by the hospital)
- Mirrors (including compacts)
- Cologne, perfume and aftershave bottles, bars of soap
- Mouthwash with alcohol
- Belts
